VANCOUVER  DOWNTOWN EASTSIDE    by Frank Dawson   A great thing happened last night at the Empress Hotel Bar. The owner Antonio gave his patrons many plates of food and goodies. I am sitting there have a brew ($2.25 a pint) and I say to myself we have a good story here. I told the owner who I was and that I was a correspondet for Nowpublic and I would like to do a story and pictures. The sanwiches where in the back room so he went with me and told the patrons there would be pictures taken.....No one moved they all wanted to be in the pictures. I found it a real priviledge to be there. I took a photo of Antonio and Rick his bar man. This REALLY made my night.
