Berlin Holocaust memorial drew millions in first year
Berlin's new Holocaust memorial has become one of Germany's most popular tourist attractions, drawing an estimated 3.5 million people in its first year, officials said on Monday.
"It has become a tourist magnet," Uwe Neumaerker, director of the foundation that oversees the memorial, told reporters.

i was simply amazed at the ingenuity of the designer, architect peter eisenman. placing 2,711 stones on sloping, uneven ground, which of course has much more to it than that! i saw a documentary about this memorial at the goethe-institut karachi sometime ago.
