Berlin's new Holocaust memorial has become one of Germany's most popular tourist attractions, drawing an estimated 3.5 million people in its first year, officials said on Monday.

i was simply amazed at the ingenuity of the designer, architect peter eisenman. placing 2,711 stones on sloping, uneven ground, which of course has much more to it than that! i saw a documentary about this memorial at the goethe-institut karachi sometime ago.
