Blinddate Berlin

Presented by Jim Avignon und Katja Loher.

For years DJs have been one of the very few profitable exports from Berlin. Galapagos presents the first all Berlin night in Williamsburg since the the infamous (and incredibly fun) Berliniamsburg events at Luxx.

German artist Avignon has been creating events in Berlin for the past 15 years. He’s created or collaborated with events that have become landmarks, such as Planet, Love Parade, Maria, WMF, Berlin Tokyo and White Trash. Since 2001 he has also been running the "Who's Afraid of Friendly Capitalism" Lounge. These shindig gems fuse the most eclectic elements of Berlin's various scenes. And for the first time, a transatlantic clone is being created right here in Williamsburg.

Expect everything from "Igloos" cocoony electronics, German lessons, to Dj teams " sandy und mandy "and "jacke wie hose" battling for the most freaky dancetune in German, to the neoexpressionistic avantgarde-pop of Neoangin and "Berlin schönwieder " Plus a video installation by acclaimed artist Katja Loher (who’s been exhibited at The Hermitage and elsewhere).

All of this and more in an environment decorated like "Picasso on acid.”
