Hollywood is a tourist destination on any given day, but today it's a veritable Mecca: Bob Barker, host of the long-running game show The Price is Right, is taping his final show, having hosted the program for thirty-five years.
It's funny: the show has been on the air since before I was born, and we at NowPublic are covering Barker's farewell on a medium undreamed-of when the show began.

For the fans who traveled across the country and slept on the sidewalk outside CBS Television City, this was their day — the day of Bob Barker's last "The Price Is Right" show.

The silver-haired icon, who has hosted the game show for 35 years, plans to officially begin his retirement Thursday.
