In what can only be a Pandering for Female Voters in preparation for the next Federal election, Wafflemiester Stephane Dion, Liberal Opposition Leader vows to set up a Commission for Women's Equality.

Though we have a Status of Women Ministry, Dion feels we need another taxpayer funded arm of government.

Now don't get me wrong, but I truly believe if women were running this country, we wouldn't be in the mess we are in.  But to ban men from running for political office, regardless of experience or not, smacks of vote pandering for the women vote.  If women choose not to run for office, then Dion is hooped, then what is gonna do?  He must think Women are a tad touched in the head to believe he has a woman's best interest at heart, especially since he was in Power to do something about it a few years ago when he was part of the ruling government in Canada, yet did nothing about it then, until now, when he realises he needs the womens votes, since most Canadians think he is a Flip Flopping moron.

The Canadian Federal Government have more "Special Needs Ministries" than anywhere in the world.

These Special Ministries are seen by most as "make work programs" and "funding opportunities" for "political minions", "politicial party friendly research firms and consultants" and of course let's not forget their "out of work friends" who wish to aspire to be a federal public servant, and believe you me, there are hundreds of thousands. Party supporters, canvassers, babysitters of the powerful etc.

This person specific job description then goes to the Government's Hiring Arm, the "Public Service Commission" (PSC) in what is a "Nudge, Nudge, Wink, Wink" approach, when a open competition is held.

The Government departments are full of persons, who in the most part have little knowledge of expertise in their job, except they meet the particular profile of the particular Special Ministry, such as:

  • Official Languages- which means more French people need to be hired.
  • Status of Women-more women need to be hired,
  • Multicultural Ministry- more ethnic people need to be hired.
  • Ethics Ministry- Well for some reason, they seem to be having a staffing problem finding people among their friends with ethics.
  • Heritage Canada-They need more old people to tell  Canadians  what it was like in their day.
  • Race Relations Commission-Not an Olympic Sport to hire ex athletes, but to hire people to tell them racism is bad. (DUH)!

Above is just a small list of special interest organizations your tax dollars pay for.

A job posted competition in which all Canadians with this particular job experience have a right to apply.  A job, a   lucrative position as a public servant complete with all the benefits and pensions few Canadians enjoy.

If the person the Special Ministry insists on hiring, fails the written portion of the job competition written specifically for them, non plussed, the Special Ministry, then cancels the competition, and makes sure their "Preferred Candidate" buckles down and studies or rewrites the job description to make it easier for the Favourite to win next time the position is posted.

Did you know the Special Ministry can further specify to the (PSC) which applicants can apply to compete for this Government position, by insisting only applicants living in a particular postal code, political riding or town can apply.

Now by narrowing down the applicants, it almost ensures they get the Special Person they want.  I say almost because if someone besides the Special Person gets higher marks on the test, the Special Ministry then conducts a personal suitability interview to ensure anyone and everyone is not suitable for the job except the "Special Person" they want.

Yes, this is your government hiring practices at work in what the Government calls it's "Clear and Transparent" hiring practises for all Canadians. To those in the know, we certainly know what the Special Ministry means by "Clear and Transparent".

Clearly Mr. Dion must think Canadians are complete idiots, not knowing what he is up to. Dion, wants policy makers who will do his bidding throughout the Public Service, this has been going on regardless by all Political Parties.

Hiring the best people for the job, only makes sense in order to get the best candidates, regardless of gender.

The governments setting up once again another Special Ministry and hiring only the "flavour of the day"  specialists in positions of power, dilutes the Government gene pool of expertise, expertise Canadian Taxpayers rely on to implement our laws, our government, our society.

Here is a list of "Federal Special Ministries" (Liberal Implemented) today, Canadians are paying for, yet these Minstries seem to do very little to benefit ordinary Canadians, but are very beneficial in hiring Political Friends and relatives in a smokescreen to get Special Interest votes.

Many of these Commissions are under Heritage Canada.

Heritage Canada and Official Languages (We have English and French, that's a No Brainer)http://www.canadianheritage.gc.ca

Status of Women ( So you see we already have one, so why does Dion want another Womens Department?)http://www.swc-cfc.gc.ca

Canada Race Relations ( So this department is set up to tell Canadians Racism is Bad, Well DUH??!!)

Ethics Commission ( You mean we have Crooks in Government?)http://www.ic.gc.ca

Then there are many other splinter organizations within the government which are special interst organisations.

Dion vows to create gender equality post if elected PMBy CHRISTINA SPENCER, NATIONAL BUREAU

In a fresh appeal to one of his party's traditional constituencies, Liberal Leader Stephane Dion said yesterday that if he becomes prime minister, he'll appoint a federal commissioner of gender equality.

"Women have made huge strides in the last few decades, but our society still has further to go," he said, citing violence and social and economic inequality as issues "that have been allowed to exist for far too long in Canada.

"We need a new tool to further the cause of gender equality."

DIFFICULT, BUT REWARDING

Dion's proposal came the same week Hillary Clinton failed to capture the nomination as the U.S. Democratic Party's first female presidential candidate. Liberal women's caucus chairwoman Diane Marleau said it is still "very difficult as a woman to be in politics. It's very rewarding, but you're not treated the same way. I'm surprised we have as many women as we do wanting to run for office."The commissioner Dion proposes would have status equivalent to officials such as the official languages commissioner or the privacy commissioner.

Barry Artiste, I like this story. It's good stuff.

More bad policy from The Great Abstainer.  Oh well, it's not like I needed more reasons to think this guy is a fool.
