Dr. Ariel King Files for Mandamus in Virginia Pro Se at the Supreme Court
Dr. Ariel King has filed pro se, what is believed to be, the first Petition for Mandamus and Prohibition in VA at the Supreme Court of the Commonwealth of Virginia regarding major UCCJEA jurisdictional issues. The Petition asks the Court to rule that Virginia did not have jurisdiction to
hear a custody case of a Maryland child, where both parents live outside the state. The Petition was prompted by Arlington J&DR Judge Esther Wiggins-Lyle's refusal to recognize Virginia's lack of jurisdiction.
