I've been a huge fan of this rice paddy art project for a long time - as usual the amazing Pink Tentacle has the latest on the enterprise. This year there has been controversy because rather than being 'art for art's sake', the project producers took sponsorship from JAL.


Has Japan Airlines’ crop-based advertising gone too far? For some residents of Inakadate — a small town with a big reputation for cultivating fantastic works of multi-colored rice paddy art — the answer is “yes.”
