Kung Fu Panda is pure awesomeness

I'm no critic but I do have a soft spot for animation flicks...and Jack Black.

The original rolly-polly actor has become rolly polly 'Po' the noodle-seller's son who dreams of becoming a kung fu warrior.

This past weekend figures show that panda power rules the multiplexes and you know, that's not such a bad thing.

"Kung Fu Panda," distributed by Paramount for DreamWorks Animation, has Black providing the voice of the tubby Po, a panda in ancient China who becomes an unlikely martial-arts hero. The voice cast includes Angelina Jolie, Dustin Hoffman, Lucy Liu and Jackie Chan.

While the movie played well to families with young children, moviegoers 17 and older made up 71 percent of the audience, according to Paramount.

"There was strong appeal for this movie in the tweens, teens and general audience beyond the core families and kids," said Anne Globe, head of marketing for DreamWorks. "Certainly, families and kids also showed up in droves, but we really have the opportunity to play as a broad comedy, too."

"Kung Fu Panda" had the best opening ever for a non-sequel cartoon flick from DreamWorks, topping such hits as "Shark Tale" and "Madagascar." Among DreamWorks animated releases, only the second and third "Shrek" movies did better.

Kung Fu Panda was a great movie, and the first summer time movie I'd o back to watch again, maybe along with Iron Man.

I bought a Mach 6 Racer at McDonalds before I watched Speed Racer. So I thought, now I need a Po before I watch Kung Fu Panda. My girlfriend wasn't impressed :)

i did see the movie twice now and i still enjoyed it.  it is a pretty well animated movie.  the art was really enjoyable to watch.  it wasn't a complete pop culture cliche like other dwa movies.  really top notch.  i saw it with a theatre full of kids and they loved just as much as the adults.  it was a very smartly done humor.

This picture was taken the first time our kids had been to Los Angeles since moving from Texas. They were shocked to see the tail end of a movie premier!

These pics were taken during the Chinese New Year parade held in London in February. I guess there's nothing that says "China" like a giant animated martial arts-practising Panda :)

I did see Kung Fu Panda...KAPOW!!!! What a kungfu knock out. An old story line brought to life again by of all martial arts hero's a Panda...I am sure Panda's everywhere are cheering, like this one here, see thumbnail.
I think there a little of Panda in us all and from seeing the blockbuster hit Panda's are now on the public's mind. Like coca cola used that polar bear in their ads, look out north pole ....Panda is just around the corner..
peace out.....Aiii ya
