Hollywood movie star Matthew McConaughey is strapping on new boots and stepping into the world of Reggae.

The star widely known for his lead role in the 2001 flick “Wedding Planner” has signed upcoming Canadian based reggae artist Mishka to his J.K Livin imprint.

Hailing from the land of Dancehall/HipHop star Collie Buddz, the Bermudan born Mishka is no new comer to the Reggae scene, having released his highly acclaimed “One Tree” for CornerStone RAS records in 2005.

He is currently working closely alongside Matthew McConaughey to create the soundtrack for the highly anticipated indie production “Surfer Dude”, also a personal project of the actor, supported by the J.K Livin imprint.

Mishka, a devoted Rastafarian residing in British Columbia, is expected to release his fourth album “Above The Bones” later this summer.

Set on a California reggae soundscape blended with an authentic West Indian accent, the album rims a fine line between Canadian Folk and Californian Beach reggae, a combination that is sure to find a home and a hit amongst Reggae lovers on the US west coast.

Sneak peeks of the album have revealed two solid tracks that have the potency to propel Mishka, “Here Comes that Train” and “Higher Heights” which brings an authentic credibility to the production.

Matthew McConaughey highly regarded as a “Hollywood Hunk”, hit the silver screen in 1994 in a supporting role in the feel good film “Angels in The Outfield”, and has been featured in over thirty major Hollywood films including 2008’s “Fool’s Gold”, 2005’s Sahara and the hilarious 2006 bachelor comedy “Failure To Launch”.
