After seeing shocking photos that sparked concern for her and her daughter's safety, we felt compelled to send this rocker mom a wake-up call.

Dear Courtney, we saw photos of you over the weekend where you look like a walking skeleton. We aren't entirely shocked when we see pictures like this -- maybe because we've seen them before. After all, your weight has yo-yoed up and down so many times, we can't even keep track anymore.

Your struggles over the years have been frequent, public, and messy. In 1992, Vanity Fair claimed you admitted to taking heroin while unknowingly carrying your daughter Frances Bean. You said your words were taken out of context, but you still had to fight the state for custody as a result. You won her back then, but are you still fighting for her? Because when we see pictures like that, we worry. Frances has already lost a father ... will she have to suffer the loss of her mother, too?

She's come close, it seems, many times. In 2003, you were arrested when breaking windows at your ex-boyfriend's home. After you were released on bail, you were rushed to the hospital for an accidental overdose--and Frances Bean was taken away from you and placed with the Department of Children and Family Services. It would be 15 long months before you regained custody of her.

That August 2004, you admitted to using drugs in violation of your probation. You were again sentenced to 28 days in rehab, but you violated that sentence. The next month, you were sentenced to six months in lock-down rehab, with house arrest following that. When you were released from house arrest, you said you were thankful for the time to take care of your daughter.

Are you still taking care of her?

This month, you claimed to be suicidal when Kurt Cobain's ashes were stolen from your Hollywood residence. "I can't believe anyone would take Kurt's ashes from me," you told The Guardian. "I find it disgusting and right now I'm suicidal. If I don't get them back, I don't know what I'll do."

Wake up, Courtney! You've got a 15-year-old child to live for. Even if you never get those ashes back, your daughter needs you.
