Twilight Moves to Potter's Date

A day after Warner Bros announced that it was moving the latest Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, from this upcoming November to July 2009, the studio behind Twilight have decided to open the movie in Potter's former November 21 release date.

Twilight, based on the novel by Stephenie Meyer, is a vampire based horror-romance that has a strong following among teenage girls. Since there is less competition now the studio, Summit, is crossing its fingers for big Thanksgiving weekend numbers. Although it has to compete against Disney's Bolt which opens on the same date.

If the movie is a success then expect a new franchise. The Twilight book series currently includes 4 novels.
