Fresh from Beanotown, one of our favourite comics, celebrates 70 years after the first Beano hit the streets.

To celebrate their anniversary on 30 July 2008, Nick Park, creator of Wallace & Gromit and long-time Beano fan, will be the Guest Editor.

To kick off, the special anniversary edition, the front cover will have both Wallace & Gromit and Dennis & Gnasher.

The stonking anniversary will go for a whole month and on  2 August, there will be a special 'Gnashonal (groan!) Menace Day' where children can be an Official Menace of The Day - (find a willing victim and tell them as many jokes as they can in a minute or set up some pranks for friends and family.

Don't say you haven't been warned!

Beaulieu, I like this story. It's good stuff.

We're both showing our age, getting excited about this one.

Update: On 26/7/08 The Daily Mail finally gave the UK this news. Shame it is a bit old!
