The United Nation's Children's Fund has crowned an Iranian radio channel to win the regional award for broadcasting a program on children.  The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) has picked Hi kids, hi baby program as the best International Children's Day of Broadcasting Award (ICDB) program to win the regional prize and was named as a candidate to win the global ICDB award.  Cristian Salazar Folkman, the UNICEF representative to Tehran, congratulated the Iranian radio for the success and said, “The UNICEF office in Tehran has encouraged the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) to attend the competition and their success in the first attempt indicates the high standard programs produced by the Iranian radio.”  Hi kids, hi baby is a radio program run by children. The program provides an opportunity for children to express their feelings, wishes and their ideals through radio or TV outlets. The Regional award winners will be announced by 29 August and the winners will be invited to New York for the naming of the global ICDB Award.  The next ICDB will take place on 1 March 2009. The theme will be "Unite for Children: Tune in to Kids!" MRD/DT. Original source at PressTV
