Velvet Revolver Split With Scott Weiland

Scott Weiland has been wylin' out for a while now. I suppose it was only a matter of time before the rest of the Revolver sent him packing back to his STP mates to see if he can salvage an iota of his 90s late-grunge glory.

Unfortunately, 'heroin chic' is, well, no longer very chic.

Scott Weiland is no longer a member of Velvet Revolver after parting ways the other members.

Slash, Duff McKagan, Matt Sorum and Dave Kushner had been at odds with Weiland in recent weeks and the singer yesterday officially unveiled plans for a Stone Temple Pilots reunion tour.

"This band is all about its fans and its music and Scott Weiland isn't 100% committed to either. Among other things, his increasingly erratic onstage behavior and personal problems have forced us to move on," guitarist Slash said in statement, according to Billboard.

Weiland recently went to rehab, resulting in the postponement of a show in San Diego.

I'm surprised that they stuck with Weiland for this long: he missed their very first gig, didn't he?

(This is also what broke up the Libertines, and, as with Pete Doherty, the addiction issue was not confronted until the damage to the band was irreversible)
