Here is some info about the fair that I found:

The Ventura County Fair is open through Aug. 10 at the fairgrounds beside Seaside Park, Ventura.

Attractions include the Ferris wheel, cotton candy, floriculture displays, junior livestock auction and headliner grandstand entertainment, which is included in price of admission.

For the first time, the fair will have a wine garden sponsored by Shell Vacations Club. The garden includes local wines from Herzog Wine Cellars and the Ventura County Wine Trail.

The Agriculture Department is hosting a scarecrow contest for the first time. Children and adults will dress straw people.
