Yaoi fangirl cafe opens in Tokyo

Yaoi - literature about gay relationships between beautiful young men - has always been popular genre with women in Japan, and now fangirls can experience yaoi heaven for real when they visit Cafe Edelstein in Tokyo.

Edelstein, inspired by a comic of the same name, is modelled on a boys' boarding school and all the waiters are pretty young men dressed as schoolboys.

Although themed bars and role-playing cafes aren't new in Japan, most are male-oriented. Visitors to such places can expect to be served by shy cute maids in frilly outfits, sexy dominatrixes, or - in some infamous places - waitresses wearing no underwear.

Given the popularity of Edelstein with young Japanese women, it appears that themed cafes aimed at females can also be a lucrative market.

It seems Yaoi fandom is growing in the States as well.  It's an interesting story, I hope you'll keep us updated.

These two made for the perfect KuroXFai pairing but unfortunatly they declined my request for a fanservice shot. Taken at Ohayocon 08.

Nice opening article, I would definatly want to be served by cute guys dressed in school uniforms.  It would be a paradise I'll be happy to visit!
