Don't get married on 777, please

This summer July 7th, 2007 is going to be a very special day...especially if you're a bloody idiot. Some people are buying into the hype and actually running to the altar to get married on the seventh day of the seventh month of the two thousand and seventh year. Marketers are having a field day, especially Vegas casinos and hotels because consumers love numerological lore and most of the gambling kind are superstitious people. Apparently, Eva Longoria and Tony Parker are buying into it. They're supposed to tie the knot on July 7th. Our777wedding.com is a website set-up to sponsor those that want to get hitched. Even Wal-Mart is promoting the event. They've decided to promote the day by offering seven couples a July 7th wedding ceremony and reception valued at $5000. Huh. Any NowPublic members planning to tie the knot on this wonderful day?

Marketers are in seventh heaven about a calendar quirk coming this summer: July 7, 2007 — and its link to lucky 777.

Every bride and groom wants a little luck on their wedding day. Seven is a magic number, and in many cultures it's very lucky . This year for many couples getting married on 07/07/07 is like hitting the Jackpot! This triple-7 won't be around for another 1,000 years!

Funny story indeed. Well, if you are trying to sell something, you would love to turn any date into a lucky magical memorable day. How many gifts do we have to get each other nowadays? Lovers celebrate things like the 2-month anniversary... ridiculous. But it's their freedom. Do it. Spend lots of money and boost our economy.
