One of the things that's always annoyed me about critics of the environmentalist movement, is that they try to portray people in it as wimpy, or not strong, or too emotional - liberal cry-baby treehuggers and other disparaging epithets. As if driving a V8 6 litre pick-up, smoking, drinking copiously and owning a gun somehow made one more of a man.
While I applaud the achievements of the researchers at Warwick (pronounced 'worick') University, it's a pity that they have to play the silly macho game and announce, "Hey, I can piss standing up too!"
Zoe Howard, head of communications for WMG, said: 'It demonstrates that not all eco cars have to be small and electric - they can be high-performance too.
"The main message is how cuttingedge technology is making high performance-eco-friendly cars a reality, helping dispel the myth that 'green' cars are slow and sluggish."

One of my automotive dreams (not that I have many) is to drop a hybrid engine into a '68 Firebird... All the power, not as much waste. My old car would haul ay double-ess on the freeway, but the city mileage was dreadful. Oh, how I miss that awesome chunk of metal.
