The soggy weather might have cast a dampener on the traditional British summer - but it has ensured vegetables are thriving and breaking new records.

This monster vegetable now holds the new world record for the biggest ever marrow after weighing in at 65 kilos (113lbs).

It took two men to carry it to its display table at the Royal Bath & West showground, near Shepton Mallet, ready to compete in the renowned giant vegetable contest.
