Captain Cook & Lord Nelson's Logs Prove Global Warming isn't Man Made

New evidence uncovered by UK's Met Office has revealed that the world went through a period of global warming in the 1730s that could not have been man-made, as indicated by logs from the ships of Captain Cook and Lord Nelson.
According to a report in The Sun, the Met office scoured more than 6,000 Royal Navy logs dating from the 1600s."Ships' officers recorded air pressure, wind strength, air and sea temperatures and other weather conditions. From these records, scientists can build a detailed picture of past weather and climate," said Maritime historian Dr Sam Willis.
The findings are startling.
They show we went through a similar period of global warming in the 1730s that could not have been man-made.
Freak storms like the ones experienced recently also occurred in the 1680s and 1690s.
They were the coldest decades in what is known as the Little Ice Age - so could not have been caused by global warming.
Cook mapped much of the Pacific before he was killed in Hawaii in a clash with the natives in 1779.
Nelson, who maintained his ships' logs himself, covered the Arctic, West Indies, south east Asia and Mediterranean before his death at the Battle Of Trafalgar off the coast of Spain in 1805.
Other valuable records include those of the East India Company, which controlled much of the trade between Britain and Asia with its ships.
According to Geographer Dr Dennis Wheeler, of Sunderland University, "British archives contain more than 100,000 Royal Navy logbooks from around 1670 to 1850 alone. They are a stunning resource."
"Global warming is a reality, but our data show climate science is complex. It is wrong to take particular events and link them to carbon dioxide emissions. These records will give us a much clearer picture of what is really happening," he added. (ANI)

politisite, I like this story. It's good stuff. Interesting. Let's not forget that just because past events have evidence to support them, that doesn't mean that we are not harming our environment. The fact still remains that the impact of humans on the earth is greater now than it has ever been, and plants and animals who have had their environments destroyed don't subscribe to NowPublic or any other news site. We have a responsibility to control toxins we put into our environment. Only time will tell, but I would rather see the human race error on the side of keeping our environment clean, than the greediness of our current systems.

politisite, I like this story. It's an Excellent stuff. Course some will detract it as not in line with Gore's theory.
I posted a story last year from a 1998 National Geographic which stated from experts who actually work in the arctic and antarctic who stated ice core samples show global warming periods dating as far back as the last ice age. As well as mini ice ages every century or so, in which our last one was in the 19 century. Though many confuse Climate Change, Global Warming, and Greenhouse Gas emissions, the Global Warming Deal is in the history books and it is a given, it happened way before cars. I think it is the Greenhouse Gases we need to concentrate on, the other two are clearly out of our hands.

Scientists have actually been saying this all along, that records show that there have been huge variables in the planet's climate all through history and pre-history.

About 95% of greenhouse gases are made up of water vapor. Carbon dioxide only makes up about 3.6% of all greenhouse gases. About 96.6% of all carbon dioxide originates from natural sources (i.e., other than man made). Only about 0.28% of all greenhouse gases are from man made sources.
Spending billions to trillions of pounds, dollars, or euros do reduce carbon dioxide emissions is a complete waste of money.

Your title does not in fact have anything to do with the content of your article.
There have been warmer and colder periods in the history of different parts of the world. This has no bearing on the current increase in the global average temperature of the world, which is almost certainly related to the unprecedented increase in carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, which is caused by human activity.
