The famous frites...as you may or may not know, "French Fries" were actually invented in Belgium. They are fried twice which makes them extra crispy and are definitely NOT fried in 100% vegetable oil. I don't really know what oil but there were some meaty undertones. The Belgians typically eat them with about a gallon of mayonnaise on top. I opted to eat mine "au naturale." Yes, they were very tasty.
