Great! Perhaps bike directions will be next. I know there has been a lot of chatter in the biking communities about the desirability of such a thing. Go, google!

Google has test added a new feature to Google Maps service.

This new feature is Walking directions. This is designed to provide the shortest possible walking route from one destination to another.

kate, I like this story. http://www.walkit.com/ also does this, and it most cases finds the best route. However, towpaths on canals are ignored!
