NP Rank:
Whale & Dolphin massacre in Europe
If you are a big animal lover, it will be really hard for you to look at the photos and complete reading this story.............
The Faroes "Bay Of Blood" are a group of about 30 islandslocated in the North Atlantic Ocean, situated halfway between Icelandand Scotland. They fall under the crown of Denmark, but aresemi-independent. The population is about 46,000, and they inhabitabout half of the islands.
The Faroes economy relies only on economic fishing, but that doesn’t give them the right to slaughter 544 Atlantic white sided dolphins in a single day, like they did in 1988.
recently, studies have shown that the meat and blubber of pilot whales contain high amounts of mercury, PCBs, DDT and dieldrin.
To the people of the Faroe Islands...I say, "STOPTHIS SENSELESS MASSACRE!!!" Anyone who could bury a hook into the backof a whale, drag it to shore, slit its throat, and butcher it, deservesto die of mercury poisoning...or worse.

This is a really shocking story. We should do all to protect those creatures.
This is an allegory to what we do to our fellow human being. Learning peace and love is the next challange facing our worklife, our career, and human culture in generall.

Where is the outrage? There should be hundreds of comments and thousands of viewings. This is the first I've seen of this. Are these photos from 1988? Is this still going on? I have not watched any video on this and will not. Humanity has become desensitized with this unconscionable violence to animals. The Tao has been lost. And I thought just us Americans were crazy, I guess the Danes are ahead of us on this front.

I just got an email with this information. Is it still going on? This is absolutely outrageous. Where are the UN and the WWF and all other organizations that ought to be putting an end to this?!?!?!?!
