Climate change will affect national parks, forest reserves and other protected areas around the world, in some cases altering conditions so severely that the resulting environments will be virtually new to the planet, according to a study presented at the U.N. climate change talks in Bali, Indonesia.

Sorry, the earth changing just isn't news for me - I guess because it's supposed to so I figured things were going just fine - but projections and interpretations of what to expect of future habitats is, and more importantly the causes.  Climate change is one.  Can we stop climate change, could we ever?  Nope.  Can we affect it  positively (enough?)? Probably.  Depends on what everyone's definition of 'enough' is.  We can try, that's important, but mother nature in the larger context of the universe which we know about .001 percent about, doesn't even always know her own plan and it's doubtful we can consistently and convincingly predict her next move.  Depends who you pay to do the study and how competent they are.  I just hope the animated pics and movies based on predictiosn giving us peaks at future environments due to climate change are of a better quality than the mutant fish on the Simpsons, if not as accurate.

Therein lies the problem with our generation. They seem more enthraled with the Simpsons then the future of the planet on which they dwell. We cannot stop Climate Change, this is true, but the world must be enlightened and educated as to why this planet is in peril. The causes are numerous, including the negligence of mankind. The jury is still out as to why this is occurring, it could be a punishment for the transgressions of mankind, it could be the cycle of earth changes that the human race has never witnessed in its existence on this planet, it could be the beginning of the end of civilization as we know it.  You have commented that the Earth Changes just isn't news for you, yet for the majority according to recent surveys, the earth and climate news is the foremost subject of importance to readers these days. Only time will judge if we are destined to go the way of the dinosaurs, if so if will happen irregardless of whether any of us ever change our thinking or our lifestyle.
