Day's Last Cigarette by CarlaMia

Smoking the day's last cigarette
Sipping my last cup of coffee
Silence, the curse of the night
Most of God's creations just go to sleep
And I’m sitting here, soberly placing myself in other circumstances
Other life-times, a different me by all means

I am not here, but this is not a dream
For I can feel, I can see and I can hear so clear
The past might have been an illusion
For I can scarcely remember an instance or two
Poe said that all we see or seem is but a dream within a dream
And my life, I pray earnestly, that it was so

I am a fair-skinned young maiden
Living by the sea and he passionately cares for me
Tears my existence with his undying love
I am a tiger, endowed with divine grace
Burning brightly in the forests of the night

My mind takes me where I want to tread
I am not here and right now is not real
