Keith Richards Signs Book Deal

Keith Richards, of the Rolling Stones, is getting $7 million to write his memoirs. It should come as no surprise since he has had a very interesting life, lets just hope he doesn't leave out the good bits.

The memoir will hit stores in the fall of 2010, said New York-based publisher Little, Brown and Co., which partnered with Britain's Weidenfeld & Nicolson to secure worldwide English-language rights.

Media reports said on Tuesday a bidding war pushed the price above $7 million, a hefty sum given that music-based books are traditionally not big sellers. Legendary guitarist Eric Clapton reportedly received a $5 million advance for his upcoming memoir.

I would think the multi million dollar deal would be awesome coin as the book would fit on a take out menu, sort of a like a footnote one page book considering he states publicy there is very little he remembers due to his heavy heroin use relying on media reports and stories from friends of his decades of decadence.

I wonder if he'll be more coherent in book form.
