About mgmirkin

Michael Gmirkin is a graduate from the University of Oregon (2001). His interests vary greatly, from computers, technology, writing and photography to astronomy, cosmology (including Plasma Cosmology and the Electric Universe), geology and solar-terrestrial interactions.

Personal scientific heroes include Kristian Birkeland, Irving Langmuir, Hannes Alfvén, C.E.R. Bruce, E.R. Rathbun, Bernard Vonnegut, Halton Arp, Wal Thornhill, Don Scott, Eric Lerner, among others.

Michael holds a number of considered opinions (after scanning diverse reading materials) about space, astronomy and cosmology which may be regarded as non-mainstream or in contrast with the Standard Model. However, he believes that an open mind is required in science if science is to have any future.
