Bay to Breakers is one of the best events in San Francisco. People
start on the bay side/wharf and walk, run, whatever to the other side
of the city. The streets are filled with costumes, kegs on wheels, and
people having fun. Sort of a marathon with a San Fran edge. Most people
like to drink while they walk the route, and the city is filled with
house parties as well as traffic being shut down in certain sections.
Lots of fun and tons of great people in all kinds of get up's. I was
living on Oak street this spring when all of these people (an
assortment of both sexes and a collection of diverse people) dressed as
cheerleaders came bounding up our street towards Alamo Square. Nothing
like tippsy chearleaders at 10 in the morning to remind you why SF is
the best city in America.
