On the Set of, "Evening" Starring Claire Danes Filming Today in New York City's West village

Focus Features is currently in production of a feature film entitled, "Evening" based on Susan Minot's bestseller and adapted by
Michael Cunningham. Directed by Lajos Koltai, the movie co-stars
Glenn Close, Meryl Streep, Claire Danes, and Redgrave's daughter
Natasha Richardson.

I stop by the West Village today were they are filming from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.at the intersection of West 4th and W. 11th St. The scene being filmed is set in 1955, so the streets are lined with classic cars, the extras are all done up in period clothes, even the streetlamp's were covered with a retro facade.

According to the Internet Movie Database, the film is a drama about

A dying woman reflects on the time in her youth when she met the love of her life as her two daughters wrestle with their mother's impending death and their own personal issues.

The film is expected to release in the summer of 2007.
