Why are our kids killing each other?

The following list of teenagers murdered this year in Britain that we are aware of. There will be many more who have just disappeared and many older people killed by teenagers and not shown in these findings.

Prison is not seen as a deterrent, as many of the youths would at least get some discipline, three square meals a day, own room, education and much less stress.

This plague of knives and guns is all too real. It is turning into a massacre of our children and we close our eyes and our curtains and our minds as a teenage boy is killed for a mobile phone.

And someone either has the guts to come down hard on any kind of crime involving a potentially lethal weapon, including possession, or we learn to live with it.

And die with it.

After 10 years of Labour, 70% of the public feel worse off in terms of quality of life. Families live in fear for their lives and in fear of loosing their houses or loosing their jobs
Mr Darling is expected to paint a gloomy picture for the next three years by warning that there is little scope for a spending bonanza on public services.
The country wants an end to the Labour Vision of high tax and violence.
As for whatever mr Yellow's reason's are for having/ not having the election the one thing he has proved is that the country do want an election.

They do want a chance to voice their disapproval for him and the orwellian party.

They do want change, but not what his party are offering.
Whilst the majority of the public have been working hard, paying high taxes and paying through the nose for Utility bills and services ect., the Government has been wasting their hard earned cash. MP pay rises of over 40% and enormous MP expenses allowances. Little money has been spent on affordable youth projects, clubs and events.
for most of the 10 years in which Gordon Brown held the purse-strings we have been spending "20 pounds ought and six" out of an income of just 20 pounds. The likely result next year, as Dickens predicted, is economic "misery".

There are two aspects to Britain's walk down Queer Street. First the Government has failed to heed Joseph's advice to the Pharaoh. It should, but hasn't, shored up its finances in the years of plenty to enable it to survive the famine that inevitably follows.
The police have been trying hard to operate with less funding but with more work and a much larger population.
Almost half the forces - 20 out of 43 - have improved their records in tackling crime, with the same number stable. Only three - City of London, Thames Valley and Wiltshire - are doing worse on crime than they were last year.
More Police cuts on the way.
Home Office Minister Tony McNulty warned that forces are facing financially " tight" times as the Government prepares to publish its long-awaited Comprehensive Spending Review.

He said: "We are now entering a more flat-line period in terms of resources after seven or eight years of growth."
The Police are bogged down with Government paperwork.
Police officers are still spending 40 per cent of their time doing paperwork despite a Government drive to get more PCs out on the beat, according to a new report out today.

Home Office figures reveal that the amount of time officers are spending on the front line has barely increased in the past year. The national average stood at 64.2 per cent, just 0.6 per cent up on last year.
Work on youth violence is too little and too late.
Experts have linked high levels of exposure to delinquency, fighting at school and violent criminal behaviour.
Video games training younger children to kill.
A major inquiry into the impact of the internet and violent video games on children is launched today.

The review will be led by Dr Tanya Byron, the TV parenting guru, and could prompt the introduction of curbs on children's access to gory images.
This should be the Governments number one priority.
Suddenly we find ourselves living in a country where our children are murdering each other.

Murder for a cheap mobile phone. Murder to show how hard they are, how deserving of respect. Murder for drug money, for wounded pride. Murder for nothing at all.

liamssoft, excellent work.  You raise valid points. We have the same problems here in the U.S. Thanks for this and all the resources.

Do any kids today have a conscience? We have some major problems. Putting into a list like that is a real wake up call. What is going to be done about it? Nothin. Good report liamssoft.

Many thanks Gibbo, the UK Government knows the situation only too well enough, they also know how to put it right, but they choose not to. They could raise the minimum wage from £3.40 per hour for all workers under the age of 18, who are no longer of compulsory school age. , that would go a long way to bringing down the petty robberies, they could also find unemployed kids something constructive to do...

Just read your artical and agree we need a wake up call BUT do not agree with your comment on what the government needs to do.We do not need more nanny state liberilism, the laws are there, what we need is for the judges to come down hard on the culprits, We need the prisons to be hard to, Shorter tougher sentencing would soon bring down the prison population. Make it so they do not want to go back. Civil liberties what about the civil liberties of the victims. I am angered by the recent coment in the media that gangsters still rule their empires via mobile phones . Surely the prisons could stop this and the drug taking, or do they do it for a quiet life? Civil liberties what about the civil liberties of the victims. Lets get real stop asking the goverment to help get of our butts and do it ourselves, Do you know what your child is doing or do you care. Bring back family values look after the young teach them correctly they will then be able to look after us when we can not look after ourselves.

Its a win win situation do it now before its too late.

Many thanks boyrichard for your comments which look at one side of the many faceted problem which I agree your recommendations need looking at in closer detail. There are many other areas that the Government could be more active and helpful in correcting bad behaviour by reinforcing existing law with the money to pay for it.... From a youths point of view there is a serious lack of funding for youth services and free social activities for young teenagers. Youth clubs, hang out centres and affordable sporting activities are non existent in many inner city areas. .
