Indonesia mulls reopening of embassy in Baghdad

The President made the statement in response to a request made by the Iraqi President that Indonesia should reopen its embassy in Baghdad, Djalal said.

"The President responded that Indonesia indeed planned to reopen its embassy. The foreign affairs ministry is currently studying the preparations," he said.

In the bilateral meeting which lasted for around 30 minutes, the Iraqi Prime Minister informed the Indonesian president about the latest political and security developments in Iraq, the spokesman said.

The Iraqi Prime Minister in his information indicated that the Iraqi economy was better off following the positive developments in the political and security situation in the Arab country.
