Having earlier today defeated China's Zheng Jie in straight sets, Serena Williams will face her sister Venus in this weekend's Wimbeldon final.

Serena Williams reached her fourth Wimbledon final and her third against her sister Venus after wrestling aside the plucky challenge of China’s Zheng Jie 6-2 7-6 (7/5) on Centre Court today.

Williams produced another performance bristling with accuracy and intensity to fight past Zheng, the world number 133 who had already made history as the first player from her country to reach a grand slam semi-final.

The Williams' Dad is steering clear of the match.
Richard Williams cannot bear to watch his daughters Venus and Serena play against each other, so if they get to the final on Saturday he will fly home to the U.S.
Williams, who nurtured their careers, is happy to cheer them on in their semi-finals today, but the clash on the biggest stage in tennis is too painful.

“If your kids got into a fight with each other, could you stand to watch that? That’s the way I feel,” he said at Wimbledon. “I wouldn’t watch it. I will be on a plane at 36 000 feet,” he said. “It is too emotional for me.”

Could be another of one of the dullest finals ever.

Dull? Nothing dull about two girls from Compton, California competing for the highest prize in upper snobbery.

But I guess it's nothing new for tennis fans, been there, done that.
