Is it possible that the producer has a secret crush on James, just like the rest of us? Maybe, but this kiss is part of a charity auction for the National Film and Television School.

James Bond film producer Barbara Broccoli is paying 19,000 pounds (C$38,000) for a kiss from actor Daniel Craig who plays the suave British spy on screen.

Broccoli will also get kisses from British actors Hugh Grant and Robbie Coltrane as part of the charity auction prize she bid for at the Great British Movie Event benefit for the National Film and Television School.

Bond's tuxedo from the film "Casino Royale" sold for 9,500 pounds ($19,000).

Craig himself paid 18,000 pounds ($36,000) for an uncorrected proof of the first Harry Potter novel, "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone."

Tuesday's auction raised 400,000 pounds ($800,000) for the film school.

good stuff:

rpshen, I like this story. It's good stuff. I like all kinds of stories and this story which at face value is a celebs loving celebs have agood time out promote a product and raise money for charity too has some deeper things 'inside' - charity is good (well most of the time) but it sometimes shows us that govt. money state money isn't used to promote certain types of things - arts is one - in particular arts education here in the uk - but also would you believe it 'child and youth cancer' - more than half of support for child and youth cancer care and research in the uk comes directly from charity - in fact state support for children's hospices in the uk is virtually zero - so great that rich people raise money for good causes but bad that so much stuff that should be state funded to a greater proportion isn't

rpshen

Thank you for your insightful comments. I am shocked that there is virtually zero support for children's hospices.
