National Bank Financial Group Recovers Used Tennis Balls
I'm all for recycling, but this seems a bit strange to me. National Bank Financial Group is encouraging the public to bring in their used tennis balls as part of an environmentally conscious act in which they will redistribute the balls to Quebec schools. The schools will cut open the balls and place them on the legs of students' chairs and tables in order to reduce classroom noise. Apparently the idea is linked to the bank's sponsorship of the Roger's Cup Tennis Tournament that is being held this week.
All tennis balls collected as part of this environmentally conscious initiative will be redistributed to Quebec schools to be placed on the legs of students' chairs. This initiative, undertaken in response to a real need expressed by our schools, seeks to reduce classroom noise and promote a better learning environment for our children.
The Bank will be encouraging Quebecers to bring their used tennis balls to participating branches during this period and place them in the recycling bins set up for this purpose.
In addition, the public will be able to exchange used tennis balls for new ones at the National Bank kiosk at Uniprix Stadium during the Rogers Cup, from July 26 to August 3.

Bijou hoards her tennis balls and will watch them CLOSELY to be sure they do not get away! She is proudly a part of the Highfalutin' Poodles gang!

I agree that this is slightly bizarre. Hard to know exactly why. I have heard people discussing the problem of classroom noise but would imagine there to be a more elegant design solution.

Hello,
Photography taken near a tennis court, in France (don't you see the frog hidden between the leaves ...!). It seems to be a kind of martian mushroom ("Soon on sale at Walmart !) ... but in fact it's our duty to considare it as a piece of pollution.
See you soon on Now Public Crowd Powered Media.

I've played tennis for 20+ years and I've thrown away a lot of old tennis balls throughout the years. It's good to know something useful can be done with them.

Lucy insists on throwing her tennis ball in the pond and then retrieving it. Sometimes she can't reach it and she looks imploringly at me until I go and get it for her and as soon as I do she throws it back in again. I think it's some sort of doggy revenge for all the times I throw it for her!

I never heard of this but I've seen it done for old people walkers and stuff like that. Most school need to do this because at my school can be very loud if they start moving desk around up stair. Can be very disruptive too.

I guess it's a good deed and it WILL cut down on classroom noise! The best part is getting new balls in exchange for the old ones to keep the cycle going!
Too bad I can't ship ours up from South Florida- we play a few games and are done with them. Lucky for us, the kids pick 'em up and play with them.

This is Stoli. Her tennis balls are unrecoverable. Unless someone from the National Bank Financial Group would like to remove the tennis ball confetti, if you will, from her pewp. But then the little Canadian children might get dog pewp on them at school. This would not be a good thing....No Stolis tennis balls are unrecoverable.
