But you're wrong about global warming. Climate change is going to create more extreme weather situations. Well, that's at least what the scientists say. 

Increasingly barren trees just outside of my college, collecting the snow briefly while the chilly wind takes a break.

ppeggy,  Chilly Story,  Brrrrrrrrr is right,  I agree with Kaitlin, I too am glad I live in Vancouver, though yesterday and today do not seem very warm.  My Fig tree looks more like a Christmas Tree.  Though I will never complain having been brought up in Fort Churchill, Manitoba in Polar bear country

This morning it's -32C and I have no water because the pipes are frozen.  This happens at some point almost every year but not usually this early.  Just thought I'd let you know.  By the way, what a great collection of 'Winter In Canada' photos you've sent in.
