0ne in three South African students drop-out study says
The members of parliament learned on Tuesday that most of the South African students do not manage to finish their tertiary studies due to various reasons, in which one of them is financial problem. According to the publication distributed to the members of the parliament by the chairperson of Higher Education South Africa Theuns Eloff, the major problem that students are facing is the issue of finance. Theuns Eloff also told the education portfolio committee they are not happy about the issue of drop outs.

According to the report, 35% of students in some Universities dropout every year before June. Most of the people do not manage to finish their first year. It was earlier reported that young people are these years pouring to universities when comparing to many previous years, and most of the people are poor black people who were previously disadvantageous.
The report also outline that most of black students do not finish their studies in record time compared to white students. It is suggested that secondary schools in rural areas do not thoroughly prepares students for a university education. This is because some of the students manage to go to universities with a little knowledge of English.
