NP Rank:
And The Spoon Ran Away With ...???
Opinion

You know if someone told me they discovered a Black Hole and a Parallel Universe, and it was in my dryer, I would honest to God believe them, no questions asked.
Virtually everyone in the world has experienced the Universal Puzzler "Now where did it go? I know I put it here?" Doesn't matter if it's socks, car keys, child, sandwich, cell phone etc ..... For some unexplained reason it disappears, sometimes it reappears in the most unlikely place, sometimes it is gone forever to parts unknown.
Rare do we misplace items larger than a toaster.... no one misplaces a Car, Luxury Cruise Liner, Television etc..Good luck finding that TV Remote though.
Though I remember when I was with a field unit some soldiers misplaced their weapons in the field, unfortunately for them, they had never heard of the word "MissRemembering", a Hillary Favourite. Not that it would have done much good with our "Ranting Screaming Mustachioed RSM."
It's nice Scientists in "White Coats"can't solve what drives some to the point of receiving a visit by men in "White Coats". It's only a spoon, but how can such a small item drive some to lunacy when it disappears for unknown reasons?
Where are the damn car keys? The socks? The left sneaker, when only the right one remains where you last pulled them off?
In the greater universe of smaller things, some objects seem to have a mind, and get-away plan, all their own.
Explaining it away as aging grey matter, just one of those days or mind games played by the dog, most of us just blindly move forward -- always keeping an eye out for our much loved but still missing bric-a-brac.
But what if science could open a door into this lost world. What if the brightest men and women -- with lab coats, analytical minds and time on their hands -- could qualify and quantify the smallest, universal nuisance.
Then you would have a case study in missing teaspoons. As well as a lesson on the universal need for levity.
