It is a sign of the future times perhaps - rice is running low on supermarket shelves.

Even in a rich nation, we are being touched by food shortages that are affecting the world.

The sign reads:

ATTENTION CUSTOMER - RICE SUPPLY

Due to the escalating global demand for Rice products, we have been and continue to experience ongoing and erratic supply issues.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and we are endeavouring  to work with our suppliers to resolves these issues.
