The changing World Order! (News-Opinion)
By, Uwe Paschen.
Today on the Eight of August 2008, we are witnessing one of the greatest if not the greatest opening ceremony of the Olympic games in Beijing, with plenty of symbols in Kanji and Pictograph for Peace! A truly remarkable display of what Humanity could be!
Yet, at the same time far away in Myanmar we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the military dictatorship that is bleeding its own people to despair and to death!
At the same time in Europe a new War has begun, Russia is invading Georgia on this day of August the 8th 2008, a day that was meant for peace and unity!
A day that was filed with hope and joy as well as an overwhelming amount of good will.
This day is ending in blood and sorrow and the beginning of a new World Order, with no light in sight nor any time left to rest for any one on this our Earth!

Paschen, I like this story. It's good stuff. ...the timing of the conflict, what plan ? Olympic games are here that people can meet. Never will be total harmony. The world is changing in a second way...2030 the chinese economy will double the US.
Mettacara I was reading your story on Guardian weekly, great awareness success for you. All my respect for your mission for Burma, even we have not always the same opinion (not important, the engegement counts) What you have gone through makes you a surviver, thinking back almost impossible. You did the right thing, action greater than you can do alone, growing in dependance of others, the most noble and difficult thing to manage in Live. You found a great supporter in Paschen, more clear than me. All our thoughts are with you with games or without games. The next step for you would be what? where can we help?

There are no coincidences in life, We are all one in the end, and what we do to others will come back to us as well, I do believe in Karma if any thing, We need to stop the pain and suffering around the World and put our power games aside or we may very well put this hole world on Fire and us with it! The time is now and we all, and each of us are the only once able to do it! If we keep on waiting for politics and business to come around we may wait for all time to come! Now Is the Time, on this very day it has to start!
e-mail each and every one and show some courage and Humanity! For the sake of Humanity!

Paschen, I like this story. It's good stuff. I do so love the Olympic Games though - it's the better part of humanity...?
at 12:30 on August 8th, 2008
So do I Christina 123, That is what makes it hard! Yes it is the better part of Humanity in a way and the idea behind the game is noble and good!
Unfortunately our Politics seem to have be highjacking them since 1936!
Thank you for the comment and Flag here, I do appreciate it very much in deed!

False hope seems to be the unfortunate goal of the masses. People trust in money, religion, governments, idols, even movie stars. Why does humanity chase an elusive dream that will never succeed?
at 13:47 on August 8th, 2008
More accurate may be indifference and false Promises or misguided believes! Hope and what we may make of this World is entirely up to each and every one of us! Thank you for the reading this Post and your comment here as well! I do appreciate it!

Paschen, I like this story. It's good stuff. Very interesting day. Russia at war, US presidential candidates lying (well, thats pretty common), Olympics coverage. I do believe that our current world is much more connected than in previous decades, which gives the appearance or a more dramatic world outlook. Clearly us humans, have a long ways to go before we can site back in rest.
As for the request to boycott this day as posted by Mettacara, though I will be back tomorrow watching and cheering on those people from my home state, I will refrain from Olympics coverage for today. I still think their are better ways to bring about social change rather than boycotting a worldwide institution that has its only ties to one particular nation because of a temporary venue. I know of few other events that bring together the focus of the entire world. If we boycott them all, what is left to unite countries that share little similar interests besides oil.
