All of the British tourists who were in the area of the earthquake in China have now been accounted for.

The family of two of the 19 British tourists trapped in a panda sanctuary for three days by the earthquake today spoke of their relief that they had been found.

Lisa Staples,39, said she had spoken to her parents David and Diane Atkins from Portchester, Hampshire, as they were being evacuated from the Wolong area by Chinese military helicopter.

The retired couple were feared missing along with their 17 travelling companions on a trip organised by The Travel Collection firm touring with the Kuoni company.
