Doomsday Travesser: How Far Is Far Enough? by twilight

The following editorial has been taken from a News Blog website about the situation at hand. It may contain some strong language. Discretion is advised.

Start of blog.

Michael Travesser says he’s the Messiah and that God has told him the world will end with an apocalyptic event at midnight on 31 October 2007.

As leader of a cult in a remote corner of New Mexico called Strong City, this 66-year-old former sailor, previously called Wayne Bent, has spent nearly 20 years preparing his 56 unquestioning and devoted followers for Doomsday. They say they are all preparing for death, to go to a better place.

In this Channel 4 program, filmmaker Ben Anthony goes into the heart of the cult to discover how Michael exerts his influence. He hears teenage girls talking about desiring sex with their leader, discovers that this sexual activity extended to Travesser’s own daughter-in-law, and meets parents who have left the cult and are desperately trying to prise their children from his grip. Strong City has come to the attention of the FBI, who are keeping a watchful eye on the group.

As the program delves into the world of Strong City, Ben Anthony asks whether Michael Travesser is about to lead his cult to suicide. Will this be another tragedy like Jonestown or Waco? Or is Travesser just a skillful manipulator, who undermines his subjects before convincing them that he is the route to all wisdom? Our world did not come to an end on 31 October 2007 – but did theirs?

End of blog.

My Thoughts..

It is interesting how more controversial groups are looming through the seams of concrete walls. The concrete walls are the delusions that some people have about living in a 'peaceful society with basic values'. They are shocked when groups like the Travesser group, or the FLDS polygamy compound or a new polygamous sect surfaces because they feel now that they have to change their thinking. The only thinking that anybody has to change is the naive idea that there are five basic religions out there- Judaism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam and Buddhism.

When groups like the Travesser group, a sex group like the Manson Family when it comes to the sex between "God and women", plus an aspect with a twist of underage sexual situations between God and a little girl will disgust any one with a logical sense of understanding. Only those who think with their glands and hormones will think otherwise, once they cross 'the line' of experiencing sexual bliss unlike any other- a similar testimony mentioned by some serial killers and necropheliacs. On the Travesser website it gives a disclaimer that gives strong warning to those under 18 and with emotional problems NOT to enter. The disclaimer also mentions to people to "get a life" if they respond negatively with hostility and also says that the content within is "just words"..

In a society that thrives on sex, orgies and beastiality in some cultures the sad fact is that there are plenty of more groups where they came from. As "mind blowing orgasms" become the new psychological version of 'cocaine'  or 'crack', it seems to be quite apparent that the sex drive is, ever so faster, creeping into the religious fold. Religious folk know that they cannot contain their urges in strict setting environments. Therefore they create their own little utopias of sexual bliss by taking some bible texts 'out of context' and tying them together with other texts. Different interpretations of an abnormal idea- transforming it to a seemingly normal idea. The guru may say to his or her followers that "if the world think that 'it' is evil, then chances are that it is not". That is part true- depending on where you apply that verse.

As more and more of these polygamous groups and other brands of movements begin to grow and flourish among the secular and orthodox religious landscapes, two options may have to transpire.

(1): The secular society, known as "the Babylonian empire" to some groups, may have to make new laws accepting such groups and practices as 'now acceptable'.

OR

(2): Flush out the groups completely from the landscape.

Not many people like the latter option since it takes away the freedom of rights and violates certain constitutions. It seems likely that the latter option may transpire if sexually abusive or sexually manipulative groups begin to rise like dandy lions in a freshly mowed yard. Some of us should ask ourselves the question "Is God a pervert?" or "Is Satan the pervert?". When we see controversies with child molesting priests in the Catholic Church and the child molesting elders in the Jehovah's Witnesses religion, we have to conclude the latter- especially since some parties in both groups faced no disciplinary action, according to documentaries.

If the Travesser group or Travesser commits suicide, then the logic behind that action would be simple, in his eyes or the eyes of other similar gurus. If you take away their 'turn ons', you take away their 'sexual bliss'. If you take away their sexual bliss then they have nothing to lose and therefor will end their life- no child fondling guru wants to enter a maximum security prison where they will end up consistently raped and then end up dead- once the inmates learn that the guru raped children.

I have heard of groups that are far out. People think and say that 'my' beliefs are far out. But nobody's actions and beliefs could be more far out than Michael Travesser the Undresser. The 'sexual revolution' has now officially moved its way into the religious world. This plague of the 'genital addiction' and 'genital idolatry', within the ranks of religious fringe groups repulses and turns those away from a true God to a more perverse God with an erection. It pays to research and divide right from wrong- to weigh the issues at hand and to weigh the pros and cons. If the cons outweigh the pros, then concrete decisions must be made and the person must take action or live with the ramifications of 'inaction'.

Travesser thinks of himself as what some call a "Holy Hornyman". If he is truly God or Michael the Arch Angel, send me to Hell. I will not serve under a god with an erection..
