Iraqi police: Suicide bomber strikes in Karmah

Iraqi police say a suicide bomber has detonated an explosive belt inside the municipal council headquarters in a town west of Baghdad during a meeting of tribal sheiks. Initial reports say at least seven people have died in the blast in the town of Karmah, including some sheiks and the town's administrative director.

The attack is the third this week against municipal government meetings. One occurred in Salman Pak south of Baghdad and the other in the capital Shiite district of Sadr City.
