One of the topics in this story is about Afrocentric schools in order to house black citizens of this country in a Blacks only institution in order for Blacks to better understand their roots, My response is, Hello!!?? ever heard of the Internet or an Atlas?.   Seems to me the South did this Afrocentric style Schooling in the 1950's and 60's, calling it segregation.

Segregation, much to the chagrin of Dr. Martin Luther King and others who stated to the world all people are equal certainly must be rolling over in their little patch of heaven.

Dr. Martin Luther King, once stated to the World the Immortal words of  "I have a dream".

This new improved Multicultural Diversity plan in Ontario sounds eeriely similar the Jim Crow Laws, what's next on the lefty liberal agenda, Afrocentric Restaurants, Buses and Water Fountains?   If you ask me, The titles Segregation, Afrocentric and other inane reasons may change,  but the implications of segregation remain the same.

Dr. Martin Luther King certainly didn't envision this in his Dream speech, that I am sure of.  But there are some whose Liberal misguided view of Multiculturalism Diversity gives them artistic licence to turn one man's dream into a nightmare.

If this goes through, perhaps they will begin an Irishcentric School, Icelandicentric, and Chinesecentric schools, YogaTofuHybridLattecentric schools.   My Goodness, the sky is the limit to how many types of different taxpayer funded schools we will have to choose from.

Trevor Phillips has just been asked what he thinks of Africentric schools, like the one Toronto is planning in an optimistic bid to cut the 40 per cent dropout rate of black students.

The question is not unexpected.

It's bound to come up in an interview with the controversial head of Britain's Commission on Equality and Human Rights, a man who believes that too much tolerance of diversity can lead to "sleepwalking towards segregation."

"Well, to be polite, and as a visitor," he says, "I'd be very surprised if a majority of blacks wants education in a ghetto. The reason why young blacks drop out of school is very unclear but it's unlikely to be about (not discussing) which African king ran Benin in 1842."

PEP
good stuff:

Barry Artiste, I like this story. It's good stuff. Awhile back, black only fraternities began springing up on American college campuses. Many of us who had worked hard to break the chains of segregation and move toward integration and equality (including integrating college campuses at all!) felt like "hel-lo, self-selected segregation!" I remember hearing so many people, indeed, entire communities saying "They're happier when they're with their own kind" as an excuse for segregation.

No, we're all happier when we come together, some of us believed. It's starting to look like we were wrong, at least according to some people. Amazing--while some groups in communities were being attacked for not being racially diverse (remember golf club scandals?) it turns out that it's perfectly OK to have black-only organizations, schools, you name it.

Thanks Pep, you should know this idea of Afrocentric is a Liberal Lefty idea proposed by a White Lefty Liberal Government looking at more ways to spend our tax dollars in their vision of a Multicultural Diversity society, who knew the Lefty Liberals and the White Supremists would share the same dream? You just know some White Supremists in the South will jump all over this Afrocentric policy and try to implement it under the guise of Afrocentric.

Strange how blacks need affirmative action, to become members of white society, but they are looked down upon for creating their own institutions.  If things were so nonracist there would be no affirmative action.  I think its good for them as it has been for whites. You don't see affirmative action for whites to go to black schools....perhaps that will change now with AfroCentric schools.
