Non political Civil Society Organization founded in1994 with the aim and objectives mainly (A) To provide free legal support to orphans, widow, destitute, and other vulnerable,(B)to work for the welfare of juvenile offender, (C) Advocacy and networking with like minded organization . Besides above the organization initiated a plan of gender empowerment through the operation of mobilization, awareness campaign, actual and effective participation at local Democracy level, peace, advocacy, lobbying, and monitoring Human Rights and attached.

Achievements
Project: - Free legal support
Activities
A) Provision of free legal assistance to widows, orphans, poor and other vulnerable
b) Provision of free legal assistance to juvenile offenders.
C) Visits to Sub Jail Mansehra.
Outcome: - The organization provided free legal assistance to 5203 beneficiaries till April 2008.
Project: - Coordination and Networking.
Activities:
The organization remained in close coordination with stake-holders like district administration, Sub Jail, and Social welfare department.
The Organization played a key role in formation of Sarhad NGOs Itthad. (SNI) at district and provincial level
Women Empowerment Programme
Project: - Establishment of resourceCenterand women welfare complex
Activities:
In 1994 the organization initiated dialogue in the society, social welfare departments NWFP, Ministry of women development and youth affairs Islamabad and sensitized them for the establishment of women welfare complex and resource center at Mansehra in public sector.
Outcome:
The women welfare complex is in progress PC 1 is approved, budget sanctioned and land acquired at Ghazikot Township Mansehra.
Project: - Establishment of working women Hostel
Activities:-
The organization initiated dialogue with district government and sensitized them for the establishment of working women hostel at Mansehra.
Outcome
The construction of working women hostel is in progress.
Project: - Construction of women shopping center
Activities:
The organization initiated dialogue with Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) Mansehra for the construction of women shopping complex so that the women can earn their livelihood at that complex and provisions of business opportunities.
Outcome:-
The construction work of women shopping complex is almost completed. Allotment of shops to women is in progress.
Project: - Empowerment of women in political activities
Activities:
- The organization conducted general sensitization workshops with both the men and women.
- Meeting with women, elders, opinion makers at community level to sensitize and mobilize them for allowing and support for active and effective participation of women in local bodies election.
- Arranged workshops/ Seminars in respect to gender empowerment through the participation in election process and contesting election.
- PDO hold Meetings with elders and opinion makers for allowing the women to cost their votes in elections.
Outcome:
Women, men, and opinion makers were sensitized and mobilized
Women were allowed to contest elections.
More than 300 women contested election
Almost in 56 U/Cs out of 58 women were allowed to cost their votes.
Project: - Voter Registration
a) The organization mobilized the community through meeting and dialogue at community level for the registration of votes.
b) The dissemination of information about voter’s registration process.
c) Bridged the gap between community vs voters’ registration authority / Election Commission.
Outcome:
Thousands of voters got registered their names in voter list.
Voter Education Programme
Activities:
i) The organization arranged training sessions with community and contestant candidates with both the genders.
ii) Distribution of pamphlets, handbooks and posters on voter education published by HRCP, Aurat Foundatation.
iii) Conducted training sessions with contesting candidates and their election agent.
Outcome:
A large number of community members, election agents, and contesting candidates got trainings and sensitized in voter education.
Project: - Participation of women in local bodies election
Activities:
1) Coordination with stack holders and like minded organizations.
2) Formation of District Coordination Committee (DCC) and Tehsil Coordination Committee (TCC) in three tehsil to involve women in local government election and to facilitate them.
3) Arranged Meeting with community elders, opinion makers and stake holders for allowing and mobilizing the women in local bodies elections.
4) Arranged workshops for community elders, contesting candidates for both the genders.
5) Contact building with women to come forward and take part in election process.
6) Awareness/Info Material development regarding Local Government system.
Outcome:
Project: - Facilitation camps
Activities:
- Arranged facilitation camps in the entire three Tehsils of Mansehra district nearest to returning officers (ROs).
- Facilitation in getting the nomination papers from returning officers.
- Filling the nomination papers and submitting before ROs.
- Display of printed material about LB process and mobilizing material to take part in LB elections.
Outcome:
- Not only hundred of women but also men got facilitated in getting, filling, and submitting nomination papers.
- Awareness was raised and people were sensitized regarding election process.
Project: - Monitoring and observing the election process
Activities:
- Arranged training sessions with election observers / monitors, Pre, during and post election monitoring and observations were conducted meetings/ dialogue with assistant election commissioner, Returning Officers were held.
- Meeting with contesting candidates and community elders.
- Meeting with line departments.
Project: - Candidates forum (General Election)
Activities:
- Gathering with candidates
- Meeting with CSOs
- Meeting with Political Parties Offices briers
- Arranged Seminars to present the parties manifesto and individual program of the contesting candidates, face to face discussion and question answer session with community, CSOs, and candidates
Project: Formulation of constituencies
Activities:
1. Meeting with Political parties and stake holders
2. Filling objection petition for changing constituencies before election commission against proposed constituencies of provincial and national assemblies in Mansehra District
3. Filling objection petition for changing constituencies against the decision of election commission before election tribunal
Outcome:
Constituencies of PA/NA’s were changed which were formed for the adjustment of the vested interest of individuals
Provision of CNIC
Activities:
1. The Organization sensitized and Mobilized Community especially the women’s about the CNIC computerized National ID

Earth Quake related Programs
The devastating earth quake 8th October 2005 had jolted North part of NWFP (Pakhtoon Hawa) and AJK, that had badly damaged the Hazara region and AJK, while district Mansehra was badly destroyed.
Project: - Emergency Response
- The organization immediately rushed the DHQ Mansehra in started rescue works. At the same time Khandan Blood donor organization, Saaiban welfare trust, and Al-Khadmat Foundation reached the Hospital.
- Arranged Emergency meeting with above mentions organization, so that coordinated efforts had been planned.
- Collected donation from private medical stores in shape of emergency medicines and mineral water, juices and Milk from shop keepers.
- Provided first Aids to victims
- On the same day the Organization volunteer visited Balakot city along with emergencies medicines for injured victims and to have collected first hand information about the incident
- Made video documentary in DHQ Mansehra and visiting Balakot the same day so that it could be disseminated to National and International Media, that Nation in world community can see the level of destruction and to response the victims
Project: - Establishment of emergencies relief Hospital
On 10th October 2005 at morning time a team of Doctors from Sheikh Zaid Hospital Lahore contacted the organization that they are coming to Mansehra in evening along with emergencies medicines and 6 ambulances to provide the emergencies services to victims and ask for help the establishment of emergencies medical camp.
Activities:
1. The organization selected a site for the establishment of ERH at government post graduate college Mansehra, keeping view the ground realities such as access from valleys Helipad and roads.
2. Contacted to college authority and district administration for permission
3. Announcement for beds in the surrounding areas Masque
4. Organized the local volunteers and categorized according to their skills gave them responsibility
5. Arrangement of accommodation for Nation and International Volunteers
6. Making flash appeals at electronic media for volunteers as per record
7. Security arrangement for the victims
8. Facilitation and establishment Attalian Red cross Medical Hospital and for Saudi Red Cross
Out Come:
With in weak time ERH become a huge medical complex having more than 700 beds and 1000s of out door patients. During this period team of Doctors from PIMS Islamabad, Buraywala, Hamdarad University Karachi, Jenah Nursing Hospital, Kohat Nursing college, FATA mobile medical units and doctors from French, Germany, Korea join ERH
Coordination and Networking:
As every one was working in responding to victims in hazard way, so there was duplication and over lapping and some areas while the other was ignored. Due to was destruction of the areas mostly the government departments offices and officials were also suffered at one hand and other side, otherwise they were also not heaving the capacity and training to handle such like situation, so the organization started coordination and networking amount the stake holders.
Activities:
- Arranged and establish a coordination Hall within ERH premises
- Provide and arranged free telephone, net, computer, printer, and TV etc facilities for all national, international organization, volunteers and government departments
- Establish information center to share all victims with other line agencies
- Minimized the duplication
- Faster emergency response
- information dissemination for both victim and response community
- Filling the gaps
- Developed linkages among government line departments, UN agencies, INGOs, NGOs and philanthropist
- Stream line all activities and the victim community for sustainable and rehabilitation
- The organization is the founder member of all the clusters like, protection, education, camp management, food and nutrition, early recovery, health, gender, environment, livelihood and DRR
Emergency Response at Community Level:
The Organization was collected donation from families’ friends and philanthropist not in cash but in kinds.
Activities:
- 2000 tents were distributed
- 15000 blankets and 15000 suits and sweeter , 10,000 shoes and socks while 300 kitchen sets krakary were disturbed to IDPs living out of the camps and hosted families.
- Medicine of worth twenty Lacks were given to ERH and after the ERH closure handed over to health department Mansehra.
Establishment of Rehabilitation Centre (Camp):
It was very difficult for all patients that had been attended to accommodate in the hospital areas for along time. Because there was flow of victims coming from the valleys and other parts of earth quake Districts, so the organization decided for the establishment of rehabilitation centers (Camps).

- Meeting with Alnoor Trust
- Meeting with PEPSI Cola Faisal Abad
- MOU was signed
- Establish Rehabilitation Center at Khaki road Mansehra and Shamla Pahari Lahore
- Monitoring of RC
- Provision of medical services
- SB poultry and PEPSI has arranged food, logistic support and accommodation while over all supervision and medical support was the responsibilities of ERH
Out Come:
- About one thousand patients and their families were shifted in RC, so burden was release from ERH.
- The other peoples were also motivated by this for the establishment of Camps
Data Collection
Activities:
- The Organization collected data from Caps specifically about the orphan(Mother Orphans, father Orphan, by both, unaccompanied and separated children)about the compensation issues like, injured, deaths, house compensation and about their inherited properties
- Designing formats for data collection

- Meeting with government line departments, District Bar association Mansehra, Generalists, UN Secretary General special reputier for human right defender, ERRA UN agencies, INGOs, NGOs and Community elders/social workers

- Final report along with recommendation shared with GOP, Chief Justice Peshawar High Court and line departments
Compensation Issues
Activities:
1. The organization facilitated the earth quake victims and receiving compensation amount announced by the GOP
2. Organization handle more than twenty thousand cases of compensation and mostly were resolved amicably
3. Organization provided legal assistants to widows and orphans in getting guardian ship and succession certificates from the concerned district court.
Monitoring Advocacy
Activities:
1. The organization monitored rescue, relief, and rehabilitation activities.
2. Monitored the IDPs officials and spontaneous camps that whether the services are provided to the victims according to UN guide line, IFRC/ICRC, code of conduct and according to minimum SPHERE standard in disaster response.
3. Monitored the IDPs repatriation at the time of official camps closure to their place of origin and migration to some other places.
4. The organization advocated on the issues of concerns on the earth –quake victims with stake holders.
5. The organization also monitored spontaneous camps and hosted families.
6. Monitored the earth quake victims shifted to different hospitals in Lahore for further treatment and rehabilitation center established at Shmala Pahari Lahore.
