The Police will never win the war on crime, when a incompetenet justice system repeatedly releases criminals with little jail time back into our society. Having dozens of career criminals with 128 criminal convictions walking our streets shows he won't ever be rehabilitated and deserves Life in Prison, never seeing the light of day, otherwise failure to incarcerate may see vigilantism or worse Police stressed out time and time again seeing Scum walking our streets before Police finish the paperwork may see Police take matters into their own hands at the end of a Gun. Who can blame them?
VANCOUVER -- First, there were chronic offenders, then super-chronic offenders. And now Vancouver has the dubious distinction of being home to "ludicrous chronic offenders" - the new name being given to those who have at least 100 crimes to their names.
Vancouver police have released pictures of three such men Thursday, as a plea that this kind of offender finally be given significant jail time.
The three middle-aged men, addicted to crack cocaine or crystal meth, steal and get light sentences when they get caught, said Vancouver Police Department spokesman Const. Tim Fanning.
"These people need to go to jail to keep the public safe," he said.
"We've got to get rid of this catch-and-release cycle . . . We want to see the pattern broken."
Vincent Mark Barton, 39, has 128 convictions for robbery, theft under $5,000 and break-and-enter dating back to 1988.
