YellowCake Uranium.. News&Opinion
The International Institute of Nonviolence
By: Rev. Jermano
The USA has removed the Yellowcake Uranium from Iraq to a buyer in Canada. It was 550 metric tons being shipped to Ontario's Canadian uranium producer, Cameco Corporation at 120.USD per pound. The yellowcake will be processed at facilities in Ontario for use in energy-producing reactors. All the Republicans are saying now "See, we told you Saddam had Weapons of Mass Destruction."
But it's a false claim..
The MSM is pushing this story trying to make the public believe that Bush wasn't lying afterall in saying Saddam had WMD and gave justification for the invasion. In fact this yellowcake they are removing due to the sale to Cameco was pre Kuwait's 1991 gulf-war invasion; yellowcake material that was already in Iraq, supplied by France.

It had nothing to do with Joe Wilson's claim that the White House and British Intelligence faked the story that Saddam was trying to purchase Yellowcake from Niger. Valerie Plames name was leaked to the Press to show she was a CIA agent to her husband, former Ambassador Joe Wilson, who wrote that he had found no evidence to support assertions that Iraq tried to buy additional yellowcake from Niger.
The issue of discrediting Joe Wilson was because he was an Ambassador and his wife a CIA agent is said she recommended her husband Joe to go to Niger and check it out, since she had the inside information about that faked dossier. When Joe found out that Saddam did not make a sale from Niger, this made President Bush a liar in using that bit of information to support the case for war. Of course the Bush people want to discredit his truth on the matter, so they leaked Wilson's wife name telling all she was in the CIA who gave him the tip to check it out, making it look as if he is doing this for some other reasons than his ambassadorship job, and thereby making him discreditable.

This story is very interesting I think because we all really wonder why France did not join the Coalition of the Willing in going to War in Iraq.
The reason is that France is the country who provided that Yellowcake to Saddam in Iraq. And most certainly they bought the Yellowcake that came from Niger. But it was not during the time of the fake dossier Dick Cheney used in claiming Saddam was re-establishing his nuclear program.
http://www.americanthinker.com/2004/12/here_we_go_again.html
In 1975 Saddam Hussein clinched a business deal with none other than Jacques Chirac to provide a French—built reactor at the Al—Tuwaitha nuclear research site just southeast of Baghdad. Dubbed 'Osirak' by the French, but known as Tammuz 1 by the Iraqi scientists, this reactor was never designed to generate commercial power despite assertions to the contrary. Nor was it to provide the basic research for construction of a commercial power reactor. The most common type of reactor to generate electrical power for public consumption is a Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR). Osirak was euphemistically dubbed a Materials Test Reactor (MTR), and was rated at 40MWth (megawatt—thermal).
All types of reactors produce plutonium as part of the atomic reaction in the core, but some types are more efficient than others. Both Osirak and the Russian reactor down the road at Tuwaitha were not pressurized reactors, in that they simply had the fuel elements in a reactor pool. This design is much better suited for clandestine production of plutonium. To efficiently 'breed' plutonium from a reaction of enriched uranium requires the ability to frequently rearrange the configuration of the fuel elements or to change them out completely. To do this with a PWR it is necessary to shut down and de—pressurize the reactor; something that is easier to monitor on the ground and from overhead imagery. Saddam's reactors did not have this requirement as they were not pressurized, and the fuel elements could be readily reconfigured or replaced quickly.
France had given them tons of yellowcake and low—enriched uranium (LEU) to get their 'research' program off the ground. Generally, reactors use uranium enriched to 20 percent, but modern nuclear weapons need about a 93 percent enriched fuel. However, if scientists increase the amount of highly enriched uranium (HEU) in the bomb, a lower level of enrichment can still produce a detonation. The 'Little Boy' bomb dropped on Hiroshima was enriched to only 80 percent, yet achieved a yield of 15 kilotons (KT) . So even if the highest level of enrichment was not achieved, Iraq had plenty of raw materials to make up the difference.
What is also interesting is that many European Countries to include the USA were the initial contributors in giving Saddam his start in the nuclear business.
They want us to forget that Ronald Reagan is the guy who gave Saddam the World's go ahead in giving him his Weapons of Mass Destruction. http://www.fff.org/comment/com0406g.asp
Iraq used many suppliers for it future nuclear program, even according to Fox News. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,73292,00.html
So folks don't jump to conclusions about this shipment of yellowcake from Iraq to Canada. All it is, is evidence of the stuff the West sold to Iraq to thereby claim Iraq had WMD in order to invade them for their oil to assure the Dominant American Empire .
It is a classic example of how America is out there sayuing they are protecting the world by supplying arms to governments who will fight our enemies instead. Ronald Reagan felt sure. "Let's have Iraq fight Iran, instead of using US military personell." We can supply them with everything they need to win the war against Iran. We'll send Donald Rumseld over to Iraq to meet Saddam and to legitimatize the deal to the world, and get companies all over the world to help Saddam get weapons to obliterate Iran. We can even shoot down an Iranian Jet liner for fun. Saddam realized he was getting nothing but death and destruction to his people and military, while Kuwait stole Iraqi Oil, and slashed oil prices so Iraq could not pay its debts..Many Iraqis died to this manipulation caused by the USA.
Now that we took control of Iraq, those Oil prices are sky high, to benefit whom? Sure is not Iraq; but for the guys who created this terrible war, Bush and Cheney.
No one is sure of the total casualties during the Iran-Iraq war, but estimates range from 500,000 to 1 million dead, 1-2 million wounded, and more than 80,000 prisoners. There were approximately 2.5 million refugees, and whole cities were destroyed. The financial cost is estimated at a minimum of $200 billion. It is such a tragedy.

Are we supposed to forget that Saddam threw out the U.N. inspectors in 1998? Are we supposed to forget that we found centrifuges buried in gardens? Are we supposed to forget that Saddam boasted to the world that he had WMD? Are we supposed to forget that Saddam started shooting at the planes enforcing the no-fly provisions of the truce agreement? Are we supposed to forget Saddam's financial and training support of several Islamic terror groups and paid $25,000 to the families of Palestinian hiomicide bombers? Give me a break!

nicely said Joellrose, The Democrats used the "Bush lied" line to weasel out of their vote to send brave American volunteers to Iraq. They then used every form of propaganda against the mission and the troops they say they "support." Obama has already trashed the Idea of quick withdrawl. The lesson seems to be don't take Democrats to a fight. You might find yourself alone on the battlefield.

Are we supposed to forget no WMD's were found?
I guess the answer is "YES". Delusion is good for the soul.
For Pete's sake, even Boy George Bush admitted it. So, at what point was he lying? Did he lie when said they were there? Did he lie when said they weren't there? Did he lie both times?
at 10:23 on July 7th, 2008
This is like a Democrat memo with the same claims that Iraq is a tragedy. Well news flash war is tragic. This is a political war and nothing Bush could say or do would have mattered. The fact is that the left has done nothing but complain and throw monkey wrenches in our soldiers way from the start.. Don't blame Bush for making his case and convincing Democrats who have no conviction to vote for military action. They abandoned the soldiers in the middle of the mission they voted to send them on. People keep harping that the US shouldn't have gone into Iraq. well it is too late for that. There is no doubt that the Plame thing was a set up. Wilson had no clue what he was doing in Niger other than his mission to sabotage Bush hatched at the CIA and in conjunction with the New York Times. And to claim that the WMD Saddam did have does not count because he got it before Kuwait does not make sense. It was still in Iraq and it was WMD. Thats like saying to the police that the weed he caught you with was sold to you by the chief of police and it was a long time ago so it's not weed.

Not so hot, drjermo. where did you get the idea that gas prices shot up after we went into Iraq? this did not happen until after Katrina and until the last year or so. Your logic is not logical.
at 22:45 on July 7th, 2008
where did you get the idea that gas prices shot up after we went into Iraq?
Uh....because it happened?
Gas prices already were on the way up prior to Katrina. Boy George and his playmates have only done all they could to worsen the problem.
However, their buddies have made a bunch of money and I am certain they are grateful that the rest of us will be paying for the war and all its trimmings.

If I have all the parts of a machine gun, would one say, I don't have one? Saadam had nearly all the components for weapons of mass distruction. Once the heat was off, don't you think that Saadam would start putting these components together? Here is a guy who had underground bunkers and protective measures for attacks and large amounts of cash. Just because talking points keep driving the message, "No weapons of mass destructions" Note that these same people all beleived that there were weapons of mass destruction and helpped convince the people that Bush was correct. Now they say that they were mislead. All one needs to do is ask them if the read all the documents themselves. The answer is mostly no.
at 20:39 on July 7th, 2008
The Republican administration is faulted for providing and supporting weapons of mass destruction to Saddam Hussein. What more proof do you need?
Their actions prompted other countries around the world to also help Saddam get those weapons. What more proof do you need?
He had weapons of mass destruction because you provided them to him, and you didn't want to buy them back. You wanted to just take them....and so of course he didn't want Weapons Inspectors in Iraq.
Americans don't want to play by the rules, only plan for conquer and control
Saddam was encouraged by the West to engage Iran and no one thought those acts were wrong. In fact the West enjoys seeing Muslim countries at war with each other.
When the bills came rolling in for Saddam to make good on, he tried to raise the revenue to pay those debts by raising Iraq's oil price, but the West did not agree to that.
So the US and other countries decided to sink Saddam and Iraq, was his view. Certainly he must have recognized that he was being duped in fighting America's enemy Iran. In case Americans forget this poigniant fact.... Iraqis soldiers died for you and America for nearly 10 years by fighting Iran, so you could have freedom in America. There are no Arlington cemetaries remembering those Iraqis who died during the Iran Iraq war for America.
The point is you lazy no good Americans didn't want to pay for it. In case you didn't know; Bush family owns oil wells in Kuwait. In Kuwait they were slant drilling and stealing Iraqi Oil...and didn't want to pay Saddam.
Saddam wanted to end the war in Iran, but America didn't want that to happen. So to think and blame Saddam for this fiasco is wrong. The west created the problem, turned on him.....making him take actions when he reclaimed Kuwait. Afterall Kuwait was at one time part of Iraq until the West stole it from Iraq so they could have a safe shipping harbor to export their Opium trade drugs from Turkey via railroad through Iraq to Kuwait bound for China.
And really if you take a look at your document being the Constitution, you claim people have the right to bear arms. But Not really right?
The REAL stuff you and American high browed politicians don't want to talk about is the fact that if I own a gun in order to stop a criminal who has one what matter does it make how BIG the gun is?
In fact I believe (hypothetically) I should have an Atomic Bomb, because GW Bush has one. And I don't trust GW Bush. So what do I do to protect myself from people who have Atomic Weapons? I want one.....
So what laws really did Saddam break? Not any more laws than the Bush administration or America who has killed more people in the world than Saddam could have done, if he killed the entire population in Iraq.
Bush and people did 911, and nobody wants to confront Bush and McCain about that. The evidence is very overwhelming.
You joy-ride Americans who stick up for Bush do it because you are afraid for whatever reason, jobs, money, being tortured. I'm not afraid to tell the truth about this.
Americans caused the problem in Iraq, blame Saddam, and tell the world lies about it. Sorry America, the world knows the difference.
And Rene the gas prices have been shooting up ever since I can remember being a little boy when it use to be 25 cents a gallon. Bush people said that Oil prices would come down when it was 1.20 a gallon if they took Iraq because they would control the oil; giving another incentive to wage the War into Iraq. But as the disasterous decision has gone on and on....the prices have gone through the roof...and will probably go even higher....
The reality is that Republicans support higher prices because they see the relevance to Al Gores Global Warming. Higher Prices slows down the economy in spending and investment. Really Republicans want the slow down in order to protect the planet. But that does not get them off the hook for the lie to go to War in Iraq. That lie being Saddam did not do 911, and he is hanged, while the guy they said did do 911 is still living somewhere free in the world. Don't tell me the USA did not sell weapons of mass destruction to Saddam. They did and they should be held accountable for doing so.

Included in this very long rant is this statement of yours: "Bush and people did 911, and nobody wants to confront Bush and McCain about that. The evidence is very overwhelming." If anyone was still reading, they stopped at this point. In the USA we call people who believe this nonsense, "truthers".
at 03:18 on July 8th, 2008
That's why America is a sound byte out of control society joellerose. The difference between you and I is; I tell the truth to things, where people like you with ADD have a hard time reading or understanding the next word and sentence. Even more disturbing you claim you didn't read it. Seems to me it would be in your interest to know why truthers, (not a bad name either) really do make sense. When I see and read from authors who come from well educated backgrounds questioning the 911 Commission Report, I tend to agree with them. Why? because they make sense.

What I want to know is what happened to the product that was looted just before and right after the invasion.
Alomost everyone knows this has been there since 91.
