Zimbabwe: The Lefts Frankenstein Mugabenstein
Everyone knows the story of Frankenstein. Well welcome to modern day Zimbabwe and it’s leader Mugabenstein. A monster that Leftists with the help of Jimmy Carter, Andrew Young and their crack team helped create. Mugabe a known Marxists to anyone who wanted to know, was elevated to savior by the Left and the Zimbabwe people’s fate was sealed. The same Left that says attacking Iraq was a crime and the Iraqi people were better off with Saddam. You would think the World would at least applaud the US for taking out their Frankenstein in Iraq. But no, the Left wanted the US to get embarrassed and defeated by the tyrants. How painful it will be to to the Left if the Iraqi people survive this messy path to self determination. That’s what happens when you park yourself on the wrong side of history.
The Left has made it impossible for the only country willing or with the capability to depose Mugabenstein from power and free the Zimbabwe people to do it. The UN will never
do it. And Europe will take the usual bystander approach and watch the genocide. After the treatment George Bush received by the Lefts outrage at Bush’s crushing of Saddam it will be a long time before any American President commits troops for any other reason than National Security.
I found this article from December By James Kirchick of the LATimes with a perspective:
As Zimbabwe’s president, Robert Mugabe, presides over what might be the most rapid disintegration yet of a modern nation-state, it has become de rigueur for journalists, politicians and academics to offer what has become a near-universal analysis: Mugabe, who has ruled his country uninterrupted for 27 years, was a promising leader who became corrupted over time by power.
This meme was popularized not long after Mugabe began seizing white-owned farms in 2000. Four years ago, in response to these raids, the New York Times editorialized that “in 23 years as president, Mr. Mugabe has gone from independence hero to tyrant.” Earlier this week, Archbishop Desmond Tutu said that “I’m just devastated by what I can’t explain, by what seems to be an aberration, this sudden change in character.”
…But this popular conception of Mugabe — propagated by the liberals who championed him in the 1970s and 1980s — is absolutely wrong. From the beginning of his political career, Mugabe was not just a Marxist but one who repeatedly made clear his intention to run Zimbabwe as an authoritarian, one-party state.
And over several years in the early 1980s, Mugabe executed what arguably might be the worst of his many atrocities, a campaign of terror against the minority Ndebele tribe in which he unleashed a North Korean-trained army unit that killed between 10,000 and 30,000 people. Yet, even in the midst of these various crimes, Mugabe never lost his fan base in the West. In 1986, the University of Massachusetts Amherst bestowed on Mugabe an honorary doctorate of laws just as he was completing his genocide against the Ndebele.
The Left now says America will do nothing to help Zimbabwe because there is no oil to steal, this after preaching for years that the only reason we went into Iraq was for oil. They seem to overlook the fact the US created a battlefield to keep the terrorists occupied in Iraq rather then concentrating their efforts on direct attacks on American soil. Which has worked since America has not had one terrorist attack against it since 9/11. Who would have guessed we would not be attacked again after 9/11. No one. The Left has been capable of brining this tyrant to power and destroying Americas ability to remove him, a 2 for 1 debacle. So it was the Left that pulled the lever and shouted “It’s alive, It’s alive” and with that created their own Frankenstein “Mugabenstein.” But this time the village people can do nothing about it...mpress
